After a missed miscarriage and two chemical pregnancies, I was doing some reading online and I found this useful site about miscarriage research.
I am particularly concerned about my immune system and its acceptance of fertilized eggs (as mentioned in this post), and I think that the two most appropriate supplements for me out of those listed are flaxseed and N-acetyl cysteine.
In particular N-acetyl cysteine was shown to increase the chances of pregnancy continuing past 20 weeks by 290% in women with unexplained recurrent miscarriage. It has a strong antioxidant effect, which is exactly what I think I need (I am also about to increase antioxidants further by changing my diet to include more raw food).
I’ve ordered both and am now taking 3 things each day:
600mg n-acetyl cysteine
10g milled flaxseed (usually mixed in with my breakfast fruit and yoghurt)
400mcg folic acid
